We’re excited to announce our next public club meeting, and the first one we’ve held in quite some time.
Date: January 22
Time: 6:00 PM
Location:
Keller Williams Real Estate
233 SW Wilson Ave, Suite 102
Bend, OR 97702
This meeting is open to current members, associate members, and anyone interested in learning more about the club.
We ask that you please RSVP below so we can plan seating appropriately.
Our training topic for the evening will be led by Chief CFI Fred Cliff.
Fred will walk through an important concept that applies to many pilots: the difference between being current and being proficient.
It’s possible for a pilot to meet FAA currency requirements and be perfectly legal to fly — yet still be rusty or out of practice. This discussion will explore how that happens, why it matters, and how flying with an instructor can help bridge that gap safely and confidently.
If you haven’t flown in a while, or if you’re getting back into the cockpit after a break, this will be a valuable and approachable discussion.
At the meeting, Dan Dawson will welcome attendees and share an update on the current state of the club. We’ll review:
Where the club stands today
How to become a member
Our near-term goals for expanding the fleet
One of our primary goals is to add a four-place IFR-capable aircraft, such as a Cessna 172 or similar, as soon as possible. We are actively exploring two parallel paths:
Leasing an aircraft from an owner who may be interested in placing their aircraft with the club
Purchasing an aircraft through a small investment group and leasing it back to the club
If you own an aircraft — or have ever considered owning one — and are curious about what a lease arrangement might look like, we’d love to talk. Feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].
